Automation Engineer (A)

Your Tasks.

  • Manage and execute automation projects from initiation to completion, including planning, design, commissioning, and handover to the client.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain MES and PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, DeltaV).
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, data integrity, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and IT.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including user requirements, functional/design specifications, and validation protocols.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and document automation-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable system operation.
  • Support qualification, validation, and change management processes for automation systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to operational staff as needed.

Your Requirement Profile.

  • Degree in engineering, automation, computer science, or a related field (FH, HF, or equivalent)
  • Several years of professional experience in automation engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical or medical technology sectors
  • Proven hands-on experience with MES platforms and PLC programming (Siemens Step 7/TIA, Allen Bradley, DeltaV, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of GMP, GAMP, and regulatory compliance in a life sciences environment
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure and networks related to automation systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; fluency in English required, German is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and coordination skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs arise
